Parkomanie
Exhibition Film
PROJECT INFO
Parkomanie - Fürst Pückler und die Gartenkunst was an exhibition at Bundeskunsthalle Bonn dedicated to the landscape vision of Hermann von Pückler-Muskau, one of the most significant landscape architects of the 19th century, whose parks at Muskau, Branitz, and Babelsberg are today UNESCO World Heritage sites.
SKY SODA SUPREME created three exhibition films for the show. Historical maps of all three parks: Park Babelsberg in Potsdam, Branitz, and Bad Muskau, were restored, modernised, and fully redesigned in Adobe Illustrator. Stefan Petschinka personally flew drone cinematography over each park, capturing the sightlines and landscape axes Pückler-Muskau designed from a direct top-down perspective.
The final films cut between the animated historical maps and the real drone footage, a spatial dialogue between 19th century vision and the living landscape that exists today. The films were shown on flat-lying screens within the exhibition space, visitors looking down into the parks as Pückler-Muskau once looked across them.
The redesigned historical maps were also published in the official exhibition catalogue by Prestel Verlag — one of Germany's most prestigious art book publishers.
